“Colors are the smiles of nature”

Josephina Espinosa

Being the daughter of an artist, it was easy for me to become interested in visual arts from an early age. I was born in Cali, Colombia, South America and received a Bachelor’s Degree with high honors- from the school of Bellas Artes in Cartagena, Colombia.

After getting married and moving to the United States, I settled down to raise my two children. During this time, I became fascinated with fusion glass and was excited by the artistic possibilities of this medium. I have dedicated myself to developing a distinctive range of styles and techniques, to create one-of-a-kind pieces that suit each individual client’s needs. Due to the influence of my native tropical country, I am always taking forms and colors from nature and letting my subconscious mind lead the way. While most of my work has been privately commissioned, they are also currently exhibited in southwest Florida, as well as, in private collections all over the world.

Aside from stained and fusion glass, I have also studied flower design, china painting, and landscape design. Currently, I am teaching at the Visual Art Center in Venice, Florida.
